How would you like $500 to give back to your favorite charity? This past holiday season I had the amazing opportunity to do just that! Delta Faucet asked me to be part of their Shop For Good campaign by giving my family $500 to "shop" for gifts for our favorite charity! What a great way to teach my little ones the importance of giving back! So, we put down our Christmas lists and started shopping... for others! My 3 young children decided that they wanted to help other kids in our community so we chose the Merciful H.E.L.P. Center located right here in our hometown. This organization has been assisting people in Hamilton, Co. Indiana with the basic necessities of life for 3 decades!
Their ministry has grown from a priest and 2 volunteers working out of a closet to an immense network of volunteers and 18 different ministries housed at the Matthew 25 Center at Our Lady of Mount Carmel! My 3 little elves chose all kinds of toys they thought that kids their age would like, and "boring mom" stuck with choosing practical items like diapers and food. Everybody pitched in and helped organize our gifts...
On a cold, January afternoon, we loaded up the minivan and delivered our loot to the Merciful H.E.L.P. Center! This organization makes it so simple! There is a "Donation Door" on the side of the building where you can pull up and simply unload your items inside...
The Merciful H.E.L.P. Center hosts a Community Care Day each year and this year the event was held at St. Mary's Church in Anderson, Indiana. My family and I were so excited to be able to contribute to this event, thanks to the generosity of Delta Faucet! It was an honor to be able to Shop For Good and to be able to teach my children the "gift" of giving back to others! Thank you Delta Faucet!
After the holiday hustle and bustle settled down here in Indianapolis, my children and I went to check out the new "Nursing Nook" sponsored by Delta Faucet at The Fashion Mall at Keystone. It is a quiet, cozy little refuge for moms who need to feed their babies in a peaceful setting. It is conveniently located by the restrooms adjacent to the fabulous food court. Another plus: my kids love the family restrooms nearby with "little" potties and kid-height sinks! Perfect!
Oh, and enter below if you are one lucky mom or dad who would like a chance to win a Delta Faucet or a $1000 gift card to Simon Mall (duh, yes!!!)
*I was contacted by Delta Faucet to participate in this program. My acceptance of this opportunity meant I was responsible for sharing my experience on social media. I did not receive any compensation for this post except for a wonderful memory with my family. If you are interested in learning more about the Merciful H.E.L.P. Center and their ministries, you can find more information here!
