It's no secret that our new house needed a little bit of, ahem, updating. The poor thing thought it was still 1986. Many months and projects later, I have been itching to do a minor makeover of the kid's bathroom. Someday it will be a full over-haul, but today is just a little cosmetic refresh. Here is the before...
The tub had a set of sliding doors that were cumbersome, heavy, dark, and really, really ugly. Plus, they were mirrored, so whoever was spending some time on the loo could enjoy staring at themselves, on the toilet. So, I just got frustrated with them one day and ripped them out. Oh, but it didn't stop there. Next I decided to see how hard it would be to remove the ugly towel rod that was plastered into the wall.
Apparently it wasn't hard at all.
Ok, so now I had to find a way to cover these gaping holes without spending a ton of time patching them. A trip to Homegoods and voila...
So, for under a $100...
Silvermist by Sherwin Williams on the walls
White Dove by Benjamin Moore on the trim
Suspension-mounted curved curtain rod
New shower curtain and rug from Target
Towel hooks from Homegoods
A few other little accents, and suddenly it's 2015 in here!
Now if everyone would quit asking for snacks so I could get started painting those cabinets! Eat your animal crackers and grab some sand paper. I am putting everybody to work!
